Many of you have brought to my attention to the fact that generic Retin A seems to have doubled and sometimes even tripled in price depending on your pharmacy.  We have a much less expensive alternative available here at our office.  SkinMedica's Retinol Complex is similar in strength and efficacy to prescription Retin A and costs only $69.  It also is formulated such that it is less irritating on your skin as well.  So if you are seeing some Retin A sticker shock now, consider giving Retinol Complex a try.

Radiant Skin Laser Protocol is Ideal for Fall

One of our older laser protocols has had an upsurge of popularity this year and the results are indeed still great!  I first introduced this treatment protocol 9 years ago on Channel 4's Good Thing Utah after treating host Reagan's skin.  It consists of 3 photofacials alternating with 3 micro laser peels.  Treatments are spaced roughly every 10-14 days.  This protocol results in a total facial skin rejuvenation with reduction in unwanted brown and red discoloration, and an overall improvement in skin texture.  Downtime is minimal. Expect redness for only the rest of the day after each photofacial, and redness the next day after the peel (followed by 3-4 days of mild skin flaking).  Makeup can be worn immediately after each procedure, so most of our patients just carry on with their normal daily activities.  This laser package is priced at a discounted $1250 for all 6 treatments, and October is the perfect time to start, ensuring that your skin will be looking it's best for the Holidays!

It's that time of year again!  Botox Week started yesterday and for the next two weeks, Botox is on sale for $9/unit.

Saturdays are Back!

We will be open this upcoming Saturday (the 13th) and I will be in the office offering Botox, Juvederm, and our full range of procedures.  From September to May, we are generally open on the second Saturday of each month (unless a Utah football game interferes in the fall - Go Utes! - and we will push it to a different weekend instead).  Saturday appointments often fill up well ahead of time, so be sure to plan ahead.

Plan Ahead for those Reunions and Weddings

How Long Should Your Botox Last?

I still run into a lot of misconceptions about how long Botox should be lasting, so I want to review the typical Botox time-line.  The well-established Botox duration is an average of 3-3.5 months.  There are pretty good studies that show only 25% of people make it to 4 months (brow area).  If your Botox is lasting less than three months, that usually means that you need a little more.  If you are getting more than 4 months out of your Botox, then lucky you :)
